Suspects In Duncan Shooting Plead Not Guilty

(AP) Two Oklahoma teenagers charged in the shooting death of an Australian baseball player in Duncan have pleaded not guilty and waived their right to a speedy trial. 18-year-old Michael Jones and 16-year-old Chancy Luna were arraigned Thursday in Stephens County District Court on first-degree murder charges in the shooting death of 22-year-old Christopher Lane. Judge Joe Enos set a trial docket date of August 18 for both teens. Lane was gunned down last summer as he was jogging. Another teenage defendant, 16-year-old James Edwards Jr., has agreed to testify against Jones and Luna if prosecutors reduce charges against him. He said last month that Luna shot and killed Lane from a car driven by Jones.
